Step one, Legislate. Step two... Step three, Profit!

Today is one of those days when I just shake my head and wonder what the world is coming to. Honesly - this is socialism at its finest!

It appears that we really are a collective now. We don't own anything that another private entity can't take away... so long as the town mayor grants it.

"Any property may now be taken for the benefit of another private party, but the fallout from this decision will not be random," she (Judge O'Connor) wrote. "The beneficiaries are likely to be those citizens with disproportionate influence and power in the political process, including large corporations and development firms."

So there you have it. Just to point out one more part of this issue - the objecting judges are the ones that are the most conservative - and all of them republican. I guess this dispells the myth that Republicans are pro-business at the expense of the little guy. As for the liberals - they love this:

"As a result, cities now have wide power to bulldoze residences for projects such as shopping malls and hotel complexes in order to generate tax revenue."
