Memorial to the terrorists

Flight 93 was one of the planes hijacked on 9/11. It was a horrific event perpetuated by terrorists of the Islamic faith. They faithfully followed their religion and murdered American civilians.

And now they are getting their own memorial. The "Crescent of Embrace" is being built at the crash site to commemorate the victims on Flight 93. However, in the ultimate display of bad taste, the design focuses around a "crescent" - which is the Islamic equivalent of a cross.

Now, I know boneheaded when I see it, and this surpasses a "boneheaded" decision and has entered the realm of "intentionally spiteful". Whoever designed this and approved it deserves to be beat around the head and neck. It has the same amount of taste as designing a holocaust memorial around the swastika. You just don't do it. No If's, And's, or But's.

Thanks to public outcry the memorial will be changed, and the crescent design removed. What will replace it is anybodies guess at this point, but hopefully it will memorialize those that died on 9/11 instead of those that killed them.
