Ron Paul and the Cerberus

I have been watching the upcoming presidential election with some trepidation. As a solid Bible thumping Christian, the democratic candidates don't even register on my radar. That leaves a motley crew of republican candidates to choose from... and to be honest, I'm rather disappointed. Neo-conservative thought has hijacked the republican party, and now it has a mighty cerberus to guard it.

This cerberus is known as Rudy McRomney and is a beast preying upon constitutional conservatives all across the nation. It is the gatekeeper of neo-conservative thought, guarding it from those who dare wear the mantle of the constitution. Let’s examine the heads of this cerberus in this light.

Rudy Giuliani: This man is hardly an example of either conservative principles or Christian behavior. He is pro-abortion, pro-gay rights, and he has cheated on his wife... of which he has had three. Principled Christians shouldn't give him more than a passing glance before choosing a different candidate. I can't find one notable difference between his platform and Hillary's. He is a liberal and to be honest, he disgusts me.

John McCain: Of the three heads, this one is the least threatening and is already close to being dispatched. He too has issues with fidelity, and his anti-gun voting record shows he is willing to play at our fears to strip away our rights. Though not quite as morally lax as the first head, I still think the American people deserve better. Thank you for your service.

Mitt Romney: Most notably, he is a Mormon. As a Christian, that all but rules him out as someone who gets my vote, especially when better alternatives exist. There is no accountability when a man's foundation is built on something less than Jesus Christ. His ardent support for the War in Iraq makes him a slave to the big government neo-conservative principles that guide such folly.

The only way to beat neo-conservativism is to face the cerberus and remove this guard dog. The answer is Ron Paul. If he doesn't win, what can the American people expect? Higher taxes, more war, losing ground on moral issues, bankruptcy, government in every area of our lives. If I wanted those things, I’d vote for a democrat.

So that’s that. Ron Paul is the last best hope for an America. Without him as President, we the people are in for more of the same. My Christian conscience won’t allow me to cast a vote in favor of someone who willfully leads us down the wide easy path to perdition. I choose to fight the cerberus with Ron Paul.
